Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 - 2 Core fix?

Is there any simple answer to getting both cores working? I've got a Dell D820 laptop w/ Intel core 2 duo T7600 processor.

I've got to disable one of the cores in the bios or do the cores = 1 trick to get things working well.

Has there been any progress on getting both of these cores working properly?? Anyone know why we have to disable one of the cores - I'd really like to see the OS run at full speed on my laptop.. Works great on my dell desktop with both cores enabled.

So...let this thing back to life. I've tried the 10.4 "driver" from Via site and ,as u imagine, did not work at all. The real thing is: i DO PAY for a useble Via Velocity 10.5 / 10.6 ,intel to be clear, Kext.
