I'm Doc, a 27 year old Animation Student, build PC's for a living, yada, yada. Anyways, I'm thinking about putting OS X 10.4.3 on my desktop rig as Windows has just thoroughly pissed me the hell off. Its a long story, but again, its Windows. So without further ado, here are me specs: Athlon 64 3000+ 2.0ghz(oc'd) Chaintech Nforce 4 Ultra(PCIX) 1gb Corsair XMS 2 DDR400 60gb HD (IDE) 120gb HD (SATA 1) 200gb HD (SATA 2) 160gb HD (External USB Back-Up) Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer XFX GeForce 6800 GT (oc'd) Is OS X anywhere near supporting both PCIX and SATA? I know there's been talk on the boards that SATA isn't supported yet, but is there a kext in the works? How about for PCIX? How about the Sound Blaster Audigy? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, I just wanna know before I make the plunge and fully convert over. I did that with my laptop and couldn't be happier. I just need to get the wireless and sound up on it and I'll be good to go. thanks for any help, and answers yall might have! Happy Holidays! Doc Sata for sure is not supported, about Nvidia 6600gt are rumours that in the next 10.4.4 build probable is going to be supported. External HDD-s are mostly supported, only filesystems matters....FAT32 is supported read-write, NTFS just only read, UNIX filesystems, I believe are fully supported read-write, about Linux I have no idea.. Audigy cards are not supported, only firewire works.
