poplars Posted August 5, 2007 Share Posted August 5, 2007 Hey all, so I've had some really WONDERFUL luck lately, and when I installed this JaS 10.4.8 cd I got perfect QE/CI (it can be sluggish at times but I think that's normal?) and everything is working but a few things. 1. My front volume jack on this computer doesn't work, I don't really expect to fix it, I'm actually content, I just need a longer cord on my headphones . this is a minor problem and not the main reason for my posting. 2. For some reason, Mac OS X will only use the CD/DVD drive hooked up to the first PATA port, not the second. I've tested both drives and they work just fine when they're plugged into the first one, but it doesn't seem to want it to work simultaneously. 3. About This Mac crashes back to login screen. I may have forgot to install some patches. but this is a SSE3 CPU, so I didn't think it would happen to me . . . 4. This isn't really an issue, but just one of those things that I thought I would ask about. Sometimes the graphics can be a bit sluggish in comparison to how they would perform in windows. I'm not sure if there's a different graphics driver I can use or not, but QE/CI are both supported, and I have all ranges of resolution. It's not really necessary to help me with this one, I don't think it's a huge problem. but with the JaS installer, I used the NV40 support and that got my video card working out of the box, so I was wondering if I used Titan in comparison it would work better? Other than the stated above, my computer is working perfectly. (not bad... some sluggishness). poplars Posted August 6, 2007 Author Share Posted August 6, 2007 I used the azailia kexts with the 10.4.8 install and I got it working right out of the box. HOWEVER, the sound works on a different port. so, bear in mind that your sound may be working, you're just using the wrong (or right) port. I'm going to try some different nvidia drivers and see if I get different results. I don't even have the volume control... no sound card detected. Is there a way to install it now? Popular do let me know how yoru Graphics test go....? Thanks. I'm not entirely sure why, I tried NVidiaEFI and it didn't work, perhaps I still had some NV40 files left over that I didn't delete. I don't feel like trying any time soon . . . so, installing loginwindow10.4.4 worked perfectly for fixing the about this mac issue. that leaves me with really onle ONE moderate/major issue. only one of my CD drives works, or as joe75 said, the primary ata jack. any idea's about my only issue left? .
