Hi folks,

I've this video card in my notebook there is no way I can get something out of it... sad.gif

I've searched a lot both here and at macvidia, it is unfortunately impossible to modify the bios since it is a mxm card... I've tryed many drivers and the only thinig I've been able to do is to make the sys recognize the right amount of ram patching IOPCIFamily.kect using Madre46's method...

If I use the default video kext the notebook monitor works, but only at 1024x768 with poor color quality (you see colour spckle instead of smooth colour gradients) without, obviously, QE or CI enabled.

I really don't care about QE and CI since I would use just 2D apps, but it would be really a good thing to have 1280x800 resolution with 32 bit colours.

The notebook model is ASUS - A6JM and I'm using osx 10.4.10 updated from 10.4.9 upchuck iso.

Does anyone know how to get a bit closer to the solution?

Thanks,

Marco

Up! :)

thx,

Marco

Do you say "up" as in you've gotten further? I have the GeForce Go 7700 512MB in my notebook and was able to use MacVidia to get full resolution (1440x900) with 10.4.8. I have only been able to get 1024x768 with 10.4.9 and higher. It'd be great if more progress was made with this!

yes indeed. if you what to have higher resolution with your 512M notebook display, the only way I knew is macvidia v1.0.81 but it has not updated so the highest kernel it can work with is 10.4.8. If you use uphuck v1.3 or higher than no way you can get the resolution you want... :)

Any progress on 512M display with QE/CI? 3D is important to me so by now I have falled back to WinXP already (the notebook came with Vista and it was simply SUCK. I took a minute to move < 1k files to another location within the same partition. What a smart OS!! :D )

Still waiting for my A8Js to be a Mac :)

It is odd that MacVidia is not updated for support the new kernel after 10.4.8 so by now I can only run OSX @ 1024x768 only without QE/CI....

I have browsed in other forums then I'm a bit get lost. In there they said the main problem about Go7700 is this chip was made with 80nm technology. Is it the other technical difficulty for this case, beside of 512M VRAM? Is there any break through on this case? Anyone know? Many thanks!

Finally it works!

Using NVinject0.2.1_512MB I've QE+CI enabled, but also ugly color speckle (as if there is just 16bit of color depth), but modifying the NVCAP value to be the same of NVinject0.0.9 version, everything is smooth and clear with, clearly, hardware QE+CI.

This is the link to megaupload for the kext: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XTOEANIT

I hope it will be usefull.

bye,

Marco
