Slinger2g
WHOOOOOOOOA!!! Why are you trying to load OSx86 under PearPC? What are your hardware spec's? Let alone, if you do get it to work under PearPC, the performance of the OS is going to be so encredibly slow. It's a waste of time........ Slinger2g
Well I have successfully installed a non hacked version of ppc OS X under PearPC. However, a hacked Intel version I haven't tried solely because it hardware compatible to install natively. PearPC is an emulation software to emulate machine language thus allowing you to install a PowerPC platform in an emulated environment. You have to designate an 8 gig disk image to run and install OS X on PearPC. Why not just run it native off a secondary partition? If you are having issue's on installing OS X natively, you shouldn't be trying to configure PearPC to install a native OSx86 install. It's just foolish... voxxdigital
Yes, as far as I know PearPC will work with PowerPC-only versions of Mac OS X (well maybe universal installers such as Tiger Developer Preview - yes it was universal). If you plan to run OS X with Intel code on PearPC I believe you will have to do some serious hacking. Did you actually find a tutorial to install OSX86 on PearPC? I'm curious. mgamber
Umm....isn't PearPC a PPC emulator? As in a non-Intel instruction set? I can't imagine an Intel version of the OS would do anything at all. Ever. The PPC version of the OS should. I had OS X running under PearPC once upon a time (don't remember the PPC version, it was some time ago) but it was so slow that it was functionally worthless. It was good for "Look what I did", nothing more. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58833-loading-with-pearpc/#findComment-419641 Share on other sites
