mohican
Hello i have freshly installed osx on a core duo 6400 on a Gigabyte 956p motherboard. I heard on board drivers are supposed to work right away but it didn't work for me, and i installed a realtek driver that worked for my 945p however it does not work for this one. I fear i have installed the wrong driver. I tried to uninstall the driver by deleting any realtek files however i really have no idea what i am doing. Does anyone know of a driver for the onboard lan? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58620-gigabyte-965-p-onboard-lan-driver-problem/ Share on other sites
BJMoose
I had that board for a few months and if I remember correctly, it has the Yukon 88E8056 network controller. There are some simple edits that need to be made in AppleYukon.kext. It's found in IONetworking.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleYukon.kext/Contents/Info.plist. You need to change all instances of 88E8053 to 88E8056 and 0x436211AB to 0x436411AB. That should do it. Don't forget to repair permissions and reboot. Hope this helps.
