ChaosVx
Hi there , Well the only problem I had with OSx86 and I'm unable to solve is Port Foward , I have a Atheros AR5005G Wireless that connects to a D-Link DI-64 Wireless Router , I opened the port etc. in the router configuration and still I'm unable to make anything connect to me and get good speeds at BitTorrent and such , LightHouse detects the protocol and stuff very well and apply the profile and even then it doesn't work , and when I open the port manually and tests at some site it's says Timeout or whatever ... anyone know how can I fix this ? ( And yes I know how to do it right in the router config. trough the browser since I do this in Windows every time ) This is the only thing that keeps me having to use Windows ... if I solve this , no more suffering having to use Vista/XP Thanks everyone , Chaos Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58551-port-forward/ Share on other sites
SDRacer48
What program are you using? I had problems with slow speeds and suspected it was my port forwarding with Tomato Torrent. Now I use Transmission, and I have great download speeds (I am assuming the port forwarding is working). ChaosVx
Well I've tried Tomato Torrent , Azureus and aMule and all of them with no exceptions the Port Forward didn't work ( you couldn't upload anything and very slow speeds ) Very strange ... don't know what to do to fix it Thanks , Chaos Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58551-port-forward/#findComment-417894 Share on other sites
boinkytwo
i use bittorent for osx. i have a 384kbps connection, and i am downloading at an average of 30kbps. no portforwarding was done here. check your osx firewall in system pref. hecker
Just opening the port in your Router is not enough. You need to assign your mac a static IP and forward all incoming connections to that specific address. Cheers, hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58551-port-forward/#findComment-418041 Share on other sites

ChaosVx
Ok I managed to assign an Static Address to OS X trough the router , it worked fine and now always assign 192.168.0.136 as the IP , then I forwarded the port that I wanted to it ... but still it doesn't work Any idea ? Thank you very much , Chaos Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58551-port-forward/#findComment-418246 Share on other sites
boinkytwo
if port forwarding is working in your windows, and torrent client is working fine, but its not working in your osx. better double check your firewall if it is enabled. the problem is only within osx or the torrent client itself. double check your router firewall too. as in my case, tomato torrent and azureus did not work me, with port forwarding. but bittorent did work very well with my osx86.
