Right, I'm new to the OSX86 scene, brand spanking new.

So this is a darn steep learning curve for me at the moment and I need a few helping pushes so to speak.

I've got the Uphuck 1.3 install dvd, and have followed practically every guide there is using diskpart to partition the disk into the HSF+(methinks) filetype, with the id=af command.

Now, it'll boot to an extent:

However this is the end of the last line before it seems to hang: "Semthex:/nebukadnezer/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386"

I'll try and get a photo of it up when I can get hold of my camera.

But I suppose what I'm really asking, is am I missing an obvious step out that the guides I've been following have left out? Or is there a more newb friendly way of installing it?

For troubleshooting criteria here's my hardware:

AMD Athlon 4600+

MSi K9N SLI Platinum model: MS-7250

nVidia GeForce 7600GT (256mb)

320GB Seagate SATA II

I've tried troubleshooting myself, but I just don't know where to look to be honest!

This sounds like almost the exact same problem I am having. The worst part, as I mentioned elsewhere, is that the DVD doesn't seem to have 4.3GB of information on it. When you look at the underside, you see a quarter inch of burned data on the DVD, which equals out to about 400KB of information that is readable on the DVD, apparently. I'm really wondering if I am doing something wrong here. I've burned up 4 DVD's now, trying to get one to burn with more then the 400KB of data on it, as well as one that actually begins the installation process.

Well as I read on your thread, there's only 1.3gb of actual data on the disk, which looks correct.

And if it is my sata hdd, this comes at a real naff time considering my ide one essentially commited suicide.

Is there any way to verify that it is my sata drive causing problems?
