rs2.pt
Hi. Can someone advise me a PCI-E graphic card that will nod need to go into endless tuturials just to ork on my OSX that I have isntaled on my PC? I currently have a ATI X300 128mb and have a dell monitor TFT 1600x1200. Already real thousands of posts but the best I get is no 3d support... or I can chose to have a generic ATI card in 1024x768, 3d support but mouse tearing etc etc... I am loking to buy other gfx card, dont look for ultimate power, but the best and less trouble config. any advise? thanx Currently PC: - Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 - Conroe @ 2.13GHz (MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, EM64T) Northbridge Intel P965/G965 rev. hackintom
any 7300gt or 7600gtATI X1950XT if you want to play games smoothly ^^ I agree. I just sold a fanless XFX 7600 GS, it wasn't powerful enough. Now, I'm selling a Sapphire X1950XT 256Mb, works great on mac, truely powerful, but I wouldn't recommend it for a noiseless config ! Anyone interested ? I'm not sure about the support of the NV 8 series, I know that a few people are working on it. With a resolution of 64x48 pixels ? Plus, running smoothly doesn't mean a lot, if you deactivate every effect, shaders, FSAA, etc, etc what is left of the original game ? BTW, I guess you meant Halo 1 and not 3, right ? Hi Noise is not a prob to me, I have the PC in my work place, where there are a bunch of serveres - some noisee. At home I have my lovely iMac20" intel :-) I just wanted a card that when booting with my Hanckintosh it uses the 3D support correctly, no mouse tearing and uses 1600x1200 of my screen. where are you from and how much are you asking for the Sapphire X1950XT 256Mb? is this card "OSX friendly"? are there driveres esay to find/config? ivansf
I was looking at this video card yesterday, Asus N6200/TD. Its an AGP card and thats the only thing missing to complete my hackintosh. I dont want to spend more than 30~40USD cause im gonna start building a new machine. Is the 6200 AGP installation as easy as the PCIe version? or i need some tricks to make it work? BJMoose
I've had excellent results from both my MSI 7600GS and ATI X1600XT. Both work great for editing in FCS2. I'm not a gamer, so I don't have much experience in that end. rs2.pt
thats a nice and cheap gfx card! was it easy to install on OSX? can you point me the drivers/or process you used to get it fully suported on OSX? There are one on ebay with 256mb. will it be less powerfull then my currently ATI X300 128mb pcie? in reply to: ------------------------------- i'm using geforce 6200TC PCIe 256mb its run oke.. halo 3, warcraft 3, call of duty 2, quake, tumblebugs, etc run smoothly on my 6200TC price is very cheap here, below US$30 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58168-need-to-buy-gfx-card-which-one-is-more-compatible-with-an-osx86/#findComment-416069 Share on other sites
omfg
I just wanted a card that when booting with my Hanckintosh it uses the 3D support correctly, no mouse tearing and uses 1600x1200 of my screen. You should go and get a 7300 or 7600 GT with 256MB on board.. avoid 512MB models unless you enjoy flashing brand new video cards with Hex-edited roms Don't sweat too much about the brand, but do decide if you want 2DVI or 1DVI/1VGA as they come in both flavours. In short, the 7300GT sounds pefect for what you want to do if it's only for desktop stuff. They're cheap as hell and 100% 'compatible'. The 7600 may be better 'value' (roughly twice the 3D performance for ~50% more cost?), but you'll probably not use it anyway. rs2.pt
thanx guys for all sugestions... form some time I am watching some good deal for a 7300gt or 7600gt... I want to ask you about the "NVIDIA Geforce 8500GT", "ATI RADEON X1650PRO" and "ATI RADEON X1600PRO" I have a good deal for those, but sill aiming for all requirement above mentioned: minimal trouble instalation, minimal trick to get it work at 1600x1200 full 3d... are those very bad comparing to a nvidia 7300 gt? consolation
The 256MB 7xxx series are by far the most easy to set up for osX. However; I'd avoid anything below a 7600GT if you intend to do any gaming, or below a 7300GT/7600GS if you do not intend to game at all. Personally I'd go for a 7800/7900 series card, find a cheap second hand one if you can't afford a new one. They have really crashed in price since the 8xxx series came out and provide great bang for buck. Given the cheap price of a 7600GT, a 7300GT or a 7600GS are just not worthwhile. The 8500 will be difficult to make run properly and will only offer the performance of a 7600. If you are thinking about dual booting into windows, the 8500 will give you dx10 compatibility -but that's not to say it has enough grunt to run dx10 games in a usable manner, it's a dog. The 1600 PRO series cards will give you about the performance of a 7300, the XT of about 7600. Hope that helps....
