Joe55
First of all, I'm a musician so it's gotta be of decent quality - no built in or £5 soundblaster {censored} thank you very much. I've got a Terratec DMX6 Fire which is pretty decent but it doesn't have any drivers for Mac. Now Behringer FCA202 is only £50 which is a bargain for a Firewire audio interface. Any one knows if that works ? Or perhaps M-audio Audiophile 2496? If I could get the Terratec card to work that would be the best, but I doubt that's even possible? So I think ill spend some more and get a decent card and hopefully it will work. Ill be watching this topic. Joe55
I've had a Soundblaster Live PCI and that's not good enough quality so the USB won't be good enough either. M-audio is an option, although I must admit I'm getting more and more interesting in the Behringer FCA202 - shame no one has tried it (or at least responded to this thread). frizbot
Nothing seems to be compatible, or at least people who have compatible cards aren't talking about it. I have the Turtle Beach USB Micro. It's small, supported (in PPC and OSX86), and has SPDIF output (TOSLINK optical, keywords for anyone searching this). I'm interested in any quality PCI or PCI-E soundcards available. USB is a bit of a hack. Ideal would be support for new C-Media chipsets, since we'd have support for cards like Auzentech/Bluegears, Chaintech's AV-710, HT Omega, Razer, and Sondigo. Quality cards, potentially cheap. Anyone have any information that could get me off USB soundcards? Joe55
Since you guys are no help I went and bought the Behringer FCA202. Got it for £40 which is a bargain for a firewire audio interface. It works without problems under both XP and OSx86 so I'm well happy :censored2: Of course £40 might be a bit much if all you do is gaming but at least it works. I've only tried iTunes so far though.
