RnO
Since last time I received such helpful insight I though I'd ask another question from you guys. Where do I go from here that apparently the card is recognized, but no networks are found. THis is what I have: My router's SSID is "Villa" and the router's IP is 192.168.1.1 . My IP when in windows is 192.168.1.101. If I could get pointers as to where to start from here, I would appreciate the help. m4ff3w
That is your onboard ethernet, not your wireless card. Do you have an ethernet cable plugged in? RnO
I do have an ethernet cable plugged-in, it goes to my router. Does this mean that my wireless is not recognized? What should I do? How can I configure it? thnx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5806-network-card-recognized-no-internet/#findComment-36733 Share on other sites
Technobob
Only a few wireless cards are working, check the HCL in the Wiki and see if your card is listed. It may work but needs a patch to get it working. Or you may have the same problem as me it just does not work. I have to run a network cable to my laptop. If you WLAN doesn't work but the ethernet card is working, just configure it. If you don't receive the conf. via DHCP you should add this yourself. Run ipconfig /all in Windows and add the values in OSX86. You need: IP, subnetmask, router and DNS. RnO
Thanks all, Jaegermaster thanks for actually telling me what I needed to do. I just wanted to make sure that this was indeed my onboard ethernet card and not my wireless card recognized as a genereic lan car. Futhermore, I did update the Airport2.kext which was supposed to support my F5D7001 as mentioned by another member in the Hardware department. Apparently for me it does not work. THanks again guys, will let you know what the deal it. hf. RnO
Ok I tried setting it up manually, everything included, no success. Here are some screens, maybe you guys can see something that I don't see. EXTREMELY WEIRD: the ethernet card that it gives me is actually my wireless card, I double-checked with the MAC Address that it gives me. How do I get around this? DrJägermeister
Take the WLAN out of your PC and see if you can configure you ethernet card now (must be connected to your switch). RnO
I did, when I remove my wireless card, the "built-in ethernet" cart dissapears. The icon next to the voulme icon at the top right dissapears as well. What I get in Networt Utility is eth0 and this is what I have. What can I do about my wireless? Is my eth0 working? DrJägermeister
I don´t know your WLAN/LAN card (you don´t posted it) but it seems that they don´t work. Think about buying a realtek 8139 card (5$) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5806-network-card-recognized-no-internet/#findComment-37321 Share on other sites
RnO
Ok, thanks for all of your help. For those of you who have the same problem, the program iStumbler is able to detect wireless networks when your wireless card is recognized as a built-in ethernet. hf.
