Thanks to this board I've been able to finally get osx86 10.4.8 running on my p5b. I used another computer for the full install, then transfered the HDD to my P5B box. Everything is working great except of course the video card. It works on DVI with an adapter, but the card has no drivers installed.

I have a ATI X1950XTX, and the first time I choose to install the drivers from the Jas disc. These drivers would not work, and all I had was a nice blue screen after the apple logo.

My understanding from reading is that the Jccool drivers work about the best, but I'm not sure if I only need his package, or some other stuff as well.

Here is what I downloaded so far....

x1950xt installer 0[1].3.pkg.zip (will this work with x1950xtx)??

extensions.zip (Do I even need this??)

macx1900G5.dmg (From ATI for control panel interface)

I'm stuck at the point where I don't know which to install first... I've read soooo much here, and some posts say to edit certain files and change vendor/id names, etc. If someone who has had success with a x1950xtx could please post a step by step, I would greatly app it. Is DVI working at this point, or do you still need dual setup, etc??

Thanks folks. :(
