NeSuKuN
Hello all, here is my problem, Yesterday I bough a C2D E6320 (1,86GHz) but system profiler, CoreDuoTemp and colloquy sysinfo script reports that it's running at 1.0GHz T_T Can anyone help me? I have the lastest BIOS and CPU Microcode Update. Can anyone help me solving this? could my OSX be detecting the fsb incorrectly? or may I have to change any bios setting? antic
You probably have the front side bus set to 200 by default. At startup press F8 then type "fsb=266" without the quotes. press "enter". when you get to the desktop check about my mac it should now show you the correct bus speed. If this works you need to insert a line into the com.apple.boot.plist to read "fsb=266" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57821-unwanted-underclocking/#findComment-412976 Share on other sites

GladiatorII
I think this has something to do with Intel® SpeedStep™ Technology, find that in your BIOS and > Disable Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57821-unwanted-underclocking/#findComment-412990 Share on other sites
NeSuKuN
so if it needs more power it will use it's full clockspeed? then I'll keep it enabled Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57821-unwanted-underclocking/#findComment-412996 Share on other sites
cyclonefr
Yes, exactly. It works fine if you don't overclock, but if you are planning to overclock, just disable it as it won't work properly.
