WhatzUpInIL
___________________________________ Update: Fixed problem by installing JaS 10.4.8. You can delete this post. ___________________________________ I installed JaS 10.4.8 Beta 2 into a new 250 GB HD, including checking the box for Intel provided. I tried it without Intel and without Nvidia drivers. It installed fine and after it asked me to reboot it came up with the gray screen, saying that I have to shutdown and reboot again. When I tried to install 10.4.10 it gave me an error of the ACPI driver not found. I entered the bios and disabled the ACPI as well as the USB, but neither of those worked. I also tried switching ACPI to S1 and S3. Anyone have a solution? I've spent almost two days on this... Will a different build by someone else, such a Tubgirl help? I'm grabbing Uphuck's 10.4.9_v1.3 as we speak... Do these new releases have fixes in them for problems such as these? This is such a common problem and I cant understand why there isnt a generic workaround for it. What is the ACPI anyways? I know it has something to do with powe management... Thanks everyone. WhatzUpInIL
How do you boot with -v? I burned Tubgirl 10.4.10 and Uphuck 10.4.9 v1.3 and both only show a white screen without the apple logo and the system dosent do anything. So far the only one that I got working, or at least being able to install is JaS 10.4.8 Beta v2. WhatzUpInIL
The motherboard is compatible: --- MSI P6N SLI-FI (LGA 755) North Bridge: nForce 650i (C55) South Bridge: nForce 430i (MCP55) Have only tried installing JaS 10.4.8 from IDE CDROM to IDE HDD. Works, install nforce4 ATA/SATA fix to get better HDD performance. booting with -v shows usb not able to get control from bios, but usb works. I use USB audio and Netgear GA311 so not sure if those onboards work. Needs nforce4 ATA/SATA fix for better HDD performance --- This is from here: Motherboard Compatibility Could it be a video card issue? Any suggestions?
