Hello, probably somebody knows sollution of he problem.

I have couple of OS-X hosts integrated into LDAP/NFS system based on SLES 10.

So, home directories are mounted from linux NFS server. Everything works OK, but...

after some time files on NFS starts to disappear. Actually, the disappear in Finder, but if you go to concole, they are still here but if you trying to read file/directory (or at least read attributes like mtime etc), you get "permission denied". You can try to force rereading of directories (I do it via MC's Ctrl+R) then after 10+ refreshes files are here again.

I tried everything already, different mount options: hard, intr, udp, tcp, readdirplus,ttl=0,noac etc in different combinations. I tried to switch off firewail on server. I tried almost everything possible. No way to improve (although you can make things worse).

WTF????

I tried to mount via AFP, but AFP doesn't really support some things like symbolng links and "dot-files"(OK, supports but in a bit strange way). I tried with SMB but this samba doesn't support links also, and permissions are a bit strange ( I guess os-x smb driver doesn't support UNIX extensions for CIFS).

This things can be irrelevant if you use only os-x, but if you want to mix OS-X with rest of unix word, it seems that you can go with NFS only.

Does anyone use OS-X + NFS?

PS: I use 10.4.10
