iamarock
Hello everybody: Is there any way to make work the M-audio Ozone (USB) sound card? in the CD that comes with the card there's OS X drivers, I tried to install them into my 10.4.1 Os X86 (Dell Inspiron 5150) but i didn´t get any success, the drivers install but I can't open the card control panel under system preferences: "preferences error, Ozone can't be loaded" After installation, The card is not listed under sound devices. I tried too with the new drivers from M-audio site with the same results. My USB ports works without any problem, i can use my USB mouse and also an USB flash memory drive. Anyone has been able to install M-audo Ozone sound card under OSX86? I'm a musician and It will be great to record my songs in OS X!!! Thank you and sorry for my english. Fiber
You have PPC drivers for your card, They don't work under X86. It's not going to work unless someone ports them to X86 Greetings, Fib Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5693-m-audio-ozone/#findComment-35933 Share on other sites
iamarock
So, what will happen when the first real Mac intell are out the next year? someone with his/her new Mac won't be able to use his/her old M-audio Ozone soundcard.... I guess that Apple or M-audio will release soon drivers for all the hardware that now only can run on PPC Macs, am I right? M-audio hardware is expensive and is very close to Apple audio editing world... Thank You. macgirl
Yeah, you are right. Although some USB cards work without the need of drivers, in my case just early today I was playing with the Audio Midi Setup and incredible I got sound out of the Digital Output of my USB Sonica Theater, also I can setup the number of speakers up to 8 with 16 bit or up to 6 with 24 bit, and up to 96 khz. Of course the drivers coul add some Surround effects and other settings. salax
Hello Alejandra, Can you please tell me something you probably forgot to mention: Did your audio input work for this particular USB card? Maybe you get audio out, but how about the in problem? Or for the record, has anyone, with any card, managed to get audio input at all? Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5693-m-audio-ozone/#findComment-36059 Share on other sites
macgirl
Forgot to mention? Well yeas, I didn't test it, but a moment ago I did. My USB Sonica works with the Line Input, I attached my iPod nano and it register sound. Also as I said in an old thread my Integrated Sound Card's Mic line works. But what I use normaly is the integrated Mic of my Logitech Orbit WebCam (USB).
