madhur Posted July 12, 2007 Share Posted July 12, 2007 Alrit i have been a die hard Mac fan , so get this , i phone was announced Macworld 07 , and i saw that video the next day or so , since than a 2 Megapixel camera is OKAY , the point is is that most of the iphone's services have already become outdated in the time americans have to wait , and by the time it comes to india its going to be even more outdated , also why could apple not have iphones in india sooner , i have to wait to get a decent phone till 2008 , i hope things sort out soon , in my town around 2000 people use o2 smartphones , and 1000 use iMates , i think thats not bad for a rural town in India ,so get us the iphone soooooooooooooooon Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56879-iphone-in-india/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

If this is true you can buy one in the states and unloock it for india.. so easy! I have bought one these week, even if I leave in Europe. I think that in a few weeks the iPhone will be unloocked, and you can put any SIM card in. And if not, I resell it on ebay, it's very hot this little thing.. I know the iPod took forever to reach India, so the iPhone could only get worse. I remember going to Mumbai in 2005....and they had just began to appear there. Same case in Chennai too. Plus they are going to be a heck of a lot more expensive than the equivalent US dollar conversion as well. Just compare the Macbook Pro prices between US dollar and Rupee...and that will exaplain it all. U.C. Posted July 13, 2007 Share Posted July 13, 2007 iPhone coming in India will take time, but it will be available in the gray market soon enough. Smart Phones do sell well in India. People love the show off value. Thats the only reason Nokia N series sells here. People buy phones just for show off. I myself have a V3xx, (ordered from Greece) AFAIK mine is the only one in India, which i bought for functionality + looks sake. Coming back to the iPhone launch, wont be before 2008. Should be available within 1.5 - 2Months. EFI: Next time you come to Mumbai, lemme know man.
