madstar Posted July 9, 2007 Share Posted July 9, 2007 my leptop is lg p1 express 1.83 dou core 80 gb hd 1gb memory video card is :ati x1400 I was try to install the jas osx into the usb external hard drive. the installation was fine, But after rebooting the computer don't start with the usb hard drive. even when i enabled the usb boot option in the bios, Does any body try to install it before?? can u give me any gide i will be appreciate it. krassi Vassev Posted July 10, 2007 Share Posted July 10, 2007 Hi, this is how it works on my laptop. I guess you have Windows installed on your local HDD. If so, you need a dual boot first of all. Make a partition on your local HDD for about 4gigb ind install on it the simple OSX, so Darwin will be your boot loader. Resize your USB HDD and do the first partition(It is up to you what size) as Fat-32 PRIMARY not logical. You can use that partition later to read and write files from both OS. Install OSX on the second one. Reboot your machine and in Darwin menu type the following command - "rd=disk1s2". You will now boot from your USB HDD. Disk1 is your external USB HDD, and s2 is your second partition, where OSX is installed. Sorry, my English is not my mother language, but I believe, I could help you. krassi Vassev Posted July 10, 2007 Share Posted July 10, 2007 I guess you have Windows on your local HDD and all so a partition ©,where is the OS installed(used to be NTFS Primary active), and another partition(D), where you store yours musick, movies, pictures and so on. You have to do another partition right after ©, it could be Fat-32 and install on it OSX. I recomend 10.4.9 v/1.3 Uphuck, becouse the smallest installation takes no more than 3gig. Don't ask me how to partition and how to install, search into the forum and you'll get the answer. The rest is described above. Wish you luck.
