sg
make sure you have the latest version of Natit (0.2 or something), if that doesnt work try different version. also you might have to go back to a loginwindow from 10.4.3 or 10.4.4 (i forget), just make sure you change permissions after. dutchiee (=
hey thanks i went back to 10.4.4, i also editd the geforce.kext except when looking at the kext files from macdrive in windows, all the changes i made had revetred back to the original :S. so i changed the kext files in macdrive and saved, and voila it worked, atlthough it takes it darn time to load the screen again. SG, do u know of anyway to remove the diskarb problem, and to improve boot times? atm it would take at least 3 mins to load eveyrthing, it sits at the diskarb for about 30 seconds, and sits with a blank screen for about 30 seconds. it takes its time thanks for the help by the way Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56455-help-me-get-my-display-working/#findComment-403790 Share on other sites
sg
you might need to update your prebinding, i think the command is 'update_prebinding /' and there might be some -force options to use too. if that fails make sure your ioata is good, might need to find one thats been modified to work better with your onboard ata chipset. dutchiee (=
hey, may i ask what my prebinding is? and what force options might be needed? about the ioata, i noticed that when shutting down at one stage it said "IOATAController blocking bus " and thats all it said, and it just hung. could you possibly guide me through this whole updating thing ?? if you could that would be awesome Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56455-help-me-get-my-display-working/#findComment-403823 Share on other sites
sg
well your last post seems to indicate there is something going on with your ATA bus/driver. any idea what chipset you have for it (intel/via/nforce etc)? you might have to just search the forums for someone with your chipset or same motherboard and try to find how to modify your IOATAFamily.kext (i think, one of the sub plugins inside that kext) and change a few values or even entirely replace it with whatever version they're using (if provided). as for prebinding (even tho i dont think it will help, but it cant hurt), open a terminal and do this: sudo update_prebinding -force -root / basically this just makes booting and opening apps way faster, so your slow bootup could be caused by this and not really your ata chipset.
