Ok guys

ive been going over and over this fr days!

I just cant get it running, would someone with a spare hours test it for me? it could just be my computer!

If a kind person out there wanted to test it download FINK from HERE And run the instructions given on the site:

Fink Commander sequence to update fink from source is as follows:

1. Source->Selfupdate

2. Tools->Interact with Fink...

3. Make sure "Accept default response" is selected, and click "Submit".

4. fink and other base packages will be built and run automatically

Once thats done search for gnome-vfs2-unified in the commander. click on it and then source -> Install. It will ask a few questions and then start to build it. It stopped a few times saying it couldn't batch install, so i just installed the offending package on its own.

After a while i get a message:

Phased compile failed. and thats it! I would love to hear if someone can install this!

Thanks for the help!

Kap

Used Fink for a while and due to changing revisions of packages ran into issues like you.

Sometimes the error message or logs weren't very helpful, but I found using fink from the command line worked better than using Fink Commander most times.

Without an error message its hard to say much more.

I originally used Fink to install some KDE programs I liked such as Quanta, but have since found OS X equivalents to most Linux apps I needed so I don't use it anymore.

You also might want to check out MacPorts. http://www.macports.org/
