Unbeatable2007
Hey guys, Firstly this is my first post to this forum, so hello to all! I have recently burnt and installed a copy of the JaS 10.4.8 AMD/Intel SSE2/SSE3, for which i DID click AMD to anyone who asks.. My error is this: When i start my computer, the very first screen i see, is the one with the memory check on it, coupled with the IDE check, which finds the hard drives/ cd drives and what not. It does find my hard drive (the one with OSX installed on it), but it stops at that screen... goes no further. Does NOT load up darwin or anything. I suppose its a good thing, that i can switch hard drives in order to boot into XP. But to do that, i need to disconnect the hard drive with OSX on it. I stared at this thing for half an hour, just thinking WTF mate?!? My thoughts... Bad installation (But why would that matter, if i am not even booting from that hard drive (e.g. booting into windows on my other hard drive)) I did try, disconnecting EVERY OTHER DRIVE including CD drives, to see if that works.. which it didn't. I tried staring at it for like 15 mins to see if that worked... IT DIDN'T! So guys, if you know what the hell is going on, lemme know... I am sitting right here at the comp, ready to try anything! royco
Listing your computer specs would be helpful. In my case my old geforce Ti 4200 AGP card was preventing me from a successful install. Solved that by getting a super cheap FX 5500 card. Headrush69
When that drive was partitioned was MBR partition type set? (clicking the Options button gives you the opportunity) If you picked either of the GUID options it won't work. Some BIOSes freak out and just lock the machine up and until the drive is removed nothing boots.
