Tatey
I have just downloaded huck 1.3 OSX86 and burned it to a DVD-R using Alcohol 120%. I am currently following this guide: http://coolblog.profit42.com/2007/06/23/os...-intel-and-amd/ I am trying to get a vista/osx dual boot. I create a partition as it says to in the guide and when i get to the point in the installation to select where i want to install OSX it does not list anywhere. I click on Disk Manager or watever it is called but that loads up, searches and then closes back down and goes back to the installation, no places are listed. I am currently using an 80GB IDE drive with a 65GB partition for vista and a 15GB partition for OSX. Please could someone help me to get it so the installation shows a partition for me to install OSX. Thanks Tatey Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56063-osx86-cant-see-any-hard-drivespartitions/ Share on other sites
BJMoose
More info about your setup would be helpful. But for starters, when you created the partition, did you make it a primary partition? Hagar
I have lost count of how many people have dropped by IRC with messed up installs after following that guide.. My best advice is to start again. and read up on how to do stuff properly here rather than following a guide like that & expecting it to work. parksnrec
I have the same problem as Tatey except that I am trying to do a clean install with no dual boot, the DVD boots and I get to the install but it doesn't find either of my harddrives. I have both an IDE and a SATA, and I even tried unplugging one and booting but still no luck. Any help would be great, thank you. Tatey
K8V SE Deluxe AMD 64 3000+ 1GB Ram 80GB Hard Drive IDE 6600GT AGP The install comes up with the error as it is boot of not meaning able to connect to disk0s1, i think this has something to do with it. I have made sure that the partition is primary and that it is the active partition. parksnrec
I actually fixed the problem I was having by setting the jumper on my hdd to MASTER, I didn't know that I didn't have any of the jumpers set at all and it just defaulted to slave. Now I have a new problem though, installation goes through fine and then on the boot everything looks normal, no errors, and the last line it spits out is "using 15728 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers" then it just hangs here, any ideas? Thanks. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56063-osx86-cant-see-any-hard-drivespartitions/#findComment-401358 Share on other sites
Tatey
I tried that but my hard drive was already set as master. When i try to install it and i cant see any disks i went into terminal and used diskutil from there since it didnt work when i clicked on it and it said that the drive wasnt bootable. How do i make it so that its bootable? Tatey
I solved my problem by completley formatting my hard drive. I have managed to boot into OSX and i am just getting everything setup now. I'm still working on sound and USB ports.
