buzznfrog
I've recently attempted to connect an external drive to my AirPort Express base station. The key word in there is the EXPRESS. For some reason, Leopard is permitting the Extreme base stations to be utilized in in AirPort Disk Utility, but not the Express version, or at least that has been my experience. So here are my questions: 1) Has anyone even attempted using an external drive with their AirPort Extreme OR AirPort Express base stations? 2) Any success with them? 3) If all fails, why in the world would Apple limit the connectivity of the Express base station? Thanks all. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/55819-airport-express-external-drive/ Share on other sites
turpentine
I think the express station lacks the power to deal with data like that. I think they will release a new revision sometime that can, but the current one is years old. macprodan
There is no technical reason as to why the express cannot use an external drive. I was hoping to do this as well.
