I first did a clean install on my firewire hd on my Macbook Pro and had no problems with bt. Then I upgraded my internal install (with time machine backup before install from the dvd) and the bt hardware could not be found (blued keeps crashing when you boot and crashreporter eats up about 100% cpu).

I had to do a complete clean install and manually move my data back from the time machine backup to get it to work properly.
