DrSupachicken
Hi Guys, I have got my machine built and now i'm trying to install OSx86 on to it. I have the JaS 10.4.8 SSE2 SSE3 iso, I installed the OS but it won't restart, and when I hit F8 on the darwin boot loader I am given this message; System Config File '/com.apple.boot.plist' Not Found Is this something related to OSx86 or my bios? My Hardware is Intel D945GTP | Pentium D 915 | 1GB DDR2 667MHz | 80GB SATA HDD The install went fine, I went into disc utilities and erased the drive then labelled it 'Macintosh HD' with the extened file type. Then the disc was there for install and install went fine. With the install I didn't install printer drivers but I did install intel sse2 and GMA950. If anyone has a solution it would be great. Cheers. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/55761-install-but-no-boot/ Share on other sites
Wheeler
I have this problem also. The harddrive is selectable in the Select a Startup disc menu under utilities, and it seems like everything is installed properly. One cause of this symptom appears to be selecting multiple kernels maybe. That is not my problem, or make much sense to me. Also I read some instructions regarding using the Terminal and using Fdisk, but I could never figure that out. Any hints or directions to go would be greatly appreciated. Both my cd and HD are both IDE. I use a Gigabyte 965-S3 mobo C2D 6300 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/55761-install-but-no-boot/#findComment-399145 Share on other sites
zoranx
One thing you may try, but you will have to reinstall the OS. At the install screen go into disk utility and erase the existing partition, when this completes, click the Partition Tab. On the screen that appears, click Options: in the box that opens, select the MasterBoot Record option. Continue to install OSX and reboot. This worked for me. Hope this helps. DrSupachicken
Ok, It's now working. I didn't have to patch the ISO or anything. What I did was, 1. Boot of install disc 2. Open disc utilities, erase disc. 3. Selected partition but didn't partition just left as one disc, but it said it was no MBR (This is what got it to work for me) 4. Ran install, and booted into OSX with no DVD after install:) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/55761-install-but-no-boot/#findComment-399368 Share on other sites
Wheeler
Thanks so much!! I'm over my next hurdle. The problem was that I failed to specify MBR for my partition. I'm on to my next problem, so its back to the research. Anyway, thanks again!
