Fridgerator
I just received my new macbook today, and I installed the iCyclone software to control the fan speed. Whats the best temperature to keep the macbook at? And what RPM should I run it at when Im just normally doing stuff? Thanks for all the help! Criot
Hey my macbook's fan seems so run between 2000-3200 RPM during "lite" usage (safari, mail, iGTD, activity moniter, adium, azerus, iTunes) and it seems to run between 5700-6700 RPM under heavy usage (CS3, Final Cut Studio, Call of Duty 2, Safari if there is lots of windows open) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/55734-recommended-temperature-for-macbook/#findComment-399890 Share on other sites

Bcopel
Criot, macbook pro's fanspeed only goes up to 6200 RPM. In my opinion unless you have serious battery concerns, you can set it to around 4000 RPM, which keeps the macbook around the desired 30-40 C range in most situations. Dont let it get above 95 C!!
