collar
Dear Friends, Seems Uphuck's 10.4.9 is a very good release and very well organized with regards to the available features during installation etc.. ( Thanks Uphuck! ). I managed to successfully install it on a small basic desktop Intel set-up with no problems at all and everything working like a charm. However, on my main AMD set-up, I ended up with a *Blue Screen* after booting into OSX. I get past the grey apple logo and then I get a blue screen that just stays there. I've tried all the AMD kernels on the disc including the 3 Universal ones. I also made sure to check the Driver & NATIT patch for my Ati Graphic card. Hard Disc formatted HFS+ and partitioned in MBR scheme. I tried the GUI scheme and I got errors when booting. AMD set-up : Athlon 64x2 4400+ Dual Core Gigabyte GA-K8NF9 Ultra Rev 2 (nForce 4 Ultra) Ati X1800 GTO Graphic Card WD 80 GB SATA HD 2GB Memory NEC 3570 dvd burner Anyone with a similar mobo and proc please chime in and of course all the gurus are welcome.. Thanks in advance for your help, as always..! Collar
delish
at boot promt type -v (verbose mode) and post what error you get. what do you mean by Driver & Natit for your card? did you install 2 different gfx-card drivers? if so that could be the problem. try with only installing only 1 gfx-card driver. Hi Delish, I installed the main ATI X1x00 driver and the Natit Patch for X1800 (I also tried installing the main driver without the patch but I got the same results) which is further down the list. I'll do a resinstall later tonight and will post the error(s) as per your suggetsions. Thanks for your input. Regards Collar

collar
Did you try installing with the login.app patch? No. Isn't this for Intel only ? or can I use it for AMD too? Thanks..:pirate2: at boot promt type -v (verbose mode) and post what error you get.what do you mean by Driver & Natit for your card? did you install 2 different gfx-card drivers? if so that could be the problem. try with only installing only 1 gfx-card driver. Hi Delish, I tried to boot in verbose mode but the scripts I got went so fast I couldn't get to read what came up. A couple of days ago, I managed to succesfully boot but Im afraid I don't remember what settings I chose. Though I can still remember from the 'About This Mac' that my graphic card had no CI & QE support and the Memory reading was blank, though I've 4 x 512 sticks installed..Thats why I re-installed again but couldn't boot up again so far.. Thanks:)
