Sharing my Ethernet-Connection via FireWire?

So I'm trying to share my Ethernet Connection (which uses an PAP protocol) via my Macbook with a firewire connection...

I just can't seem to get it to work. However, if I connect via Airport and share that Airport connection via Firewire it works perfectly. Any one have an idea how to do it?

BTW. All connections are set to DHCP. I can't change the Ethernet connection to static because then that connection would not work. If I change the firewire connection to static it then screws my ethernet connection up (it assumes then that the firewire connection is my internet source).

Thanks in advance!

Go to system preferences, sharing, internet tab. Then stop sharing. Then set "Share your connection from:" to ethernet and check the box that says firewire below. Then click start and you should be good to go.

Under the menu labeled "Show:" select "Network Port Configurations". Here you can not only turn ports on and off, but drag them to put them in the order you would like the computer to try them. Put Firewire last. Turn off DHCP on Firewire. Set up Firewire on both devices to non routable IP's in the same subnet (ie 10.0.0.2 & 10.0.0.1). It's been a while since I've used this, but I think that should solve your problem.
