So I have been trying to install and have these 2 symptoms.

1) it fails the checksum when mounting in the finder.

2) while I was able to finally get a disc made, the installer worked till it actually began installing. then about 1/4 inch along the yellow exclamation sign comes up saying that something is wrong with the BSD system something.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks

If the image fails checksum before mounting I'm afraid it's corrupt and there's nothing to do.

How did you download it?

Transmission

Exact line is " the installer can't validate the contents of the 'Base System' package'.

so basically trash this file and try the download all over?

and when i try to mount it says ' codec overrun'
