My sound card is known as both

ATI IXP150 AC97

-AND-

Realtek ALC259

But regardless, whatever we call it, I can't get sound to work.

I have tried the wiki, on every kext in AppleAC97Audio.kext, none will work.

I'm not sure what else to try.

My ids is 0x43411002.

Does anyone have something else to try?

Or better yet, has anyone had success with this card?

Thanks,

Poz

  • 2 months later...

I got a ac97 soundcard with the same device id and vendor id. That's what I get when I try and load the kext:

16IOAC97AudioCodec is not compatible with its superclass, 9IOService superclass changed?

kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext

load failed for extension AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext

(run kextload with -t for diagnostic output)

Any ideas?

It seems like this is totally unsupported...
