Jordan K
I'm thinking of building a new pc with the intent to put both Vista and OS X 10.4.9 (uphuck v1.3) in dual boot. I've chosen some parts that I am thinking of getting for it, can anyone confirm if they will work in OS X in particular? The parts I plan to purchase are- Motherboard: Asus P5N-E SLI (http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=24062) Processor: Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 RAM: Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4D (http://www.digitan.com.au/product.php?productid=39160&cat=1394&page=2) Graphics Card: Asus EN7900GS (NVidia 7900GS) Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200.10 Cooler: Tuniq Tower 120 (http://pccasegear.com.au/prod5029.htm) Power Supply: Corsair HX 520W CD/DVD Drive: Samsung SH-S182D Case: Cooler Master Centurion 534 Please let me know if any of these parts won't work with OSX86 10.4.9 as I don't want to waste what little money I have!!! Hi - 1) please read the 'newbie info' stickie a few inches above your post 2) check out the HCL for OS X 10.4.8 3) these forums have an excellent search function into which you can copy/paste your h/w 4) if you bother to look through these forums you will see far, far too many of these too-lazy-to-look threads; few get answered. First off, I'm not a newbie, I've already installed OS X on a number of computers that I've already got and those of a few friends, I just thought it would be wise to ask at this forum before I go and spend $1500. I'm aware of the Hardware Compatability List at the OSX86 project Wiki and I've searched through the site but not found all that much in relation to my particular hardware. I have done some searches and found out some info about a few of the parts but not all, so I made a new post regarding the compatability of the parts I didn't find any information about and included the rest of the hardware in the computer also. I realise that I probably won't get many genuine replies to this but why not make a post and see if anyone's willing to help? They hold their value exceptionally well, are surprisingly good value new (in the US) anyway, & will of course run OS X seamlessly, exceptionally quietly, & without hassle.
