M. Russell
One of the user's I support did something *Really* dumb... He has a MBP, dual booting 10.4.9 and Vista. The other day, he decided he wanted to free up some space by removing Vista. Instead of coming to me or using the Bootcamp assistant to revert back to a single partition, he took advice from his 16 year old son. The story I get is, he booted off a BartPE CD, ran DiskPart and deleted his Vista partition. Is there anyway I can restore the partition info so he doesn't lose all of his data? It is particularly important to recover the data (or beter yet be able to boot) from his Mac partition... Any suggestions would be warmly received! anonymous86
First, fire the thing up in Target disk mode (hold down "T" while booting) and connect it via Firewire to another Mac to get the data to safety. Maybe you can BLESS (that's the name of the Command-line utility) the HFS+ Partition again?
