erbic
Not much to say aside from "read the topic". I installed openSUSE 10.2 on my Oct. 2006-model Macbook Pro, and it boots flawlessly with LILO and I've got Beryl working great with the fglrx ATI drivers. However, I do have an issue with the sound. For some reason, I cannot get ANY sound to come out of my speakers. Oddly, it works when I plug headphones in... but I don't want to have to do that all the time. I've been playing with KMix for about a half hour now, switching around the primary channel, muting/unmuting channels, screwing with options, to no avail. Anyone had success with sound in openSUSE on a Macbook Pro? Alessandro17
It is really odd. I can't imagine any reason why sound should come out of headphones and not out of speakers. Try with a different pair of speakers or with a stereo system. Also try to reconfigure your sound card with YaST (with a different distro I'd suggest "alsaconf" from the command line). Edit: try also KDE control center, sound. erbic
Eh, never mind. I booted into SuSE just now and it magically worked. Dunno what was going on, but it seems to have fixed itself.
