Intel HDA

Hi!

I run OSX86 (and only OSX86) on my PC which has a Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 motherboard. It has an Intel HDA sound card. It's a Realtek of some description.

I have no sound, and I have been unsuccessful in getting sound drivers from the 3rdPartyDrivers article on the OSX86 project Wiki.

Does anybody know how / where I can get drivers for my sound card? If anybody needs more information, I'll be willing to help.

(But, to let you know, I'm a noob at OSX86 so I'll need clear instructions :P)

to determine what kind of chipset you got is by looking at your mainboard specification. there are 2 steps to look for:

running on windows

right+click on "my computer"

click properties

click "Hardware" tab

click "Device Manager" button

click on + "Sound,Video and game controllers"

right+click on "type of your chipset" for examples is "Realtek High Definition Audio"

click "properties"

click "details" tab

see "Device Instance Id" --> HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_1458E601&REV_1000\4&348770F&0&0201

vendor id : 10EC

device id: 0888

next still in device manager window

click on + "System devices"

right+click on "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio"

click "properties"

click "details" tab

see "Device Instance Id" --> PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&SUBSYS_A0021458&REV_02\3&13C0B0C5&0&D8

vendor id: 8086

device id: 284B

try this, hope it works :-)
