Canadian DSM
On my X2 4200+ I had the same issues, and used the boot flag: idlehalt=0 That sped things up dramatically. Add that boot flag to your com.apple.Boot.plist and see if it make a difference, either that or try starting up with the boot flag -v to see if it's hanging anywhere. Sometimes if it can't probe a USB device properly, it will hang as it tries to get a response back before dying.
scotishhaggis
am guessin that i do that at boot options
penguino_loco
yes, idlehalt=0 fixes a problem OS X has with using multiple cores... i'll upload a boot.plist file for you in a moment... before you get the grey screen or when it prompts you for boot options, enter this: platform=X86PC idlehalt=0 -v this should enable verbose boot so that you can see what it is doing... NOTE: JaS is going to install slowly, uphuck is much faster @ install... but JaS will work fine...
