WauloK
I have a Foxconn NF4K8AB-RS motherboard with builtin sound: "Integrated, 5.1 channel AC97 (Realtek)" OSX86 does not even detect sound builtin on the motherboard. Anyone else have luck with this? TIA! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5358-ac97-onboard-nvidia-nforce4-sound-not-working/ Share on other sites

WauloK
As replied to your last reply in my query about MS Nat Pro keyboard, I'm using 10.4.1 I saw in the wiki it says I might get it going editing a plist file. Will search the wiki for this since it's not linked from the HCL page and see if that helps. If I'm lucky it's the same as the HCL page entry: Realtek ALC850 (nForce Audio) (requires kext plist file edit). I don't know if it's ALC850 but will find out and search for "kext plist file edit" somewhere in the wiki. anomaly
Tried editing my info.plist file but I couldn't get Audio to work I'm on a nForce4 SLI motherboard (A8N SLI Premium) which has the Realtek ALC850. My code in the info.plist file is as follows: </dict> <key>NVIDIA AC97 Audio</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.apple.driver.AppleAC97AudioIntelICH</string> <key>ICH Type</key> <integer>99</integer> <key>IOClass</key> <string>0x005910de</string> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> Do I have the string in the right place? Does this look correct? The first time I edited the info.plist file it didn't look quite like what it does now... Could somebody post their working code on similar hardware (nForce SLI chipset), or help me correct this code so that it works? BTW macgirl that link to the wiki was very useful ty. -EDIT: Macgirl you've got new hardware from the last time I've scanned through your signature, we have very similar chipsets (only features vary), could you post this portion of you info.plist file or tell me how I need to correct this one? ty Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5358-ac97-onboard-nvidia-nforce4-sound-not-working/#findComment-39193 Share on other sites
anomaly
I updated my Mobo's BIOS to 1009 because I was told that any BIOS revision before 1008 on my particular mobo integrated audio would not work. I also did an overlay of OSX because I tried using DisplayConfigX to get better desktop resolutions (using DisplayConfigX rendered my OSX install useless be careful). Well now that I've updated my BIOS and did an overlay with the OS I was hoping to have audio working; no such luck. I might just format/reload the OS rather than a simple overlay to see if that does the trick. Any suggestions? My mobo is a ASUS A8N SLI Premium btw. Uses the Realtek ALC850 for audio.
