Installing on a AMD Athlon 3200+ barton core

hi, couple months ago, i tried to install MacOS on my AMD Athlon 3200+ with 1GB RAM system.

it install but when it boots, it said something about hardware , and need to install.

 

now, it been a while, is it possible for me to install Tigger on this computer?

 

it has Nforce2 chipset, MSI Ti4800SE video card, Sound blaster Audigy2, and Asus motherboard.

any suggestion?

also, there are couple version of this OS X86 out there? which one should I get?

Your Barton doesn't have the SSE2 instruction set which is the bare minimum for getting OSX86 working, I've seen post about suggesting the use of QEMU to simulate SSE2 (or maybe even SSE3) but as you'd be running in an emulated environment it wouldn't be very quick. If you want to try OSX either upgrade your hardware (new S754 semperons have SSE2 and SSE3) or buy something like a MAC mini.

For qemu (the only way run OSX86 on your hardware), you need the deadmoo VMware image.

i read alot in this forum, and yeah, i will give up installing on my AMD computer

but i just got a Compaq N610C with a 1.8GHZ P4 M CPU, and i guess i can use this laptop for MaC OSx.

i also downloaded "Apple.OS.X.x86.10.4.Generic.Install.DVD" with bittorent, is this a old version already? or it's new and will install on my N610C?

I used "Apple.OS.X.x86.10.4.Generic.Install.DVD" to install OS X on my Northwood P4/3.2GHz. I'm still locating a working 10.4.3 installer. Searched the forum and couldnt find a solid answer. A lot of implies but nothing solid.

10.4.3 is new. Check it with "about this MAC"
