dragonflyd12
hi, i got mac os x 10.4.8 installed and working on my desktop and even managed to upgrade it to 10.4.9 - my desktop config is p4 - 3ghz, 512 mb ram gma 900 etc. i decided to install mac on my laptop too which is an amd turion 1.6 ghz with 512mb ram and a 40 gb hard disk with ati x200 graphics... i tried installing mac on this machine after (using jas 10.4.8 sse2 sse3) and made appropirate selections such as selecting the amd kexts etc.... the install took a mighty long time .. approximately 2 hrs (it took 15 - 20 min on my desktop) and when the system it never booted up .. and i could see lines of text just flowing on my screen - (this is the type of Dos text) ... can someone please help me on what i can do as i would really like mac to work on my laptop, many thanks, dragonfly Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/52829-umm-jas-1048-with-amd/ Share on other sites
hackintom
I am definitely not the guy who will save your day. But what I can tell you is that you should take a photo of your screen during the boot. So that AMD users can read it andl help you, for sure. hecker
I would recommend you try out tubgirls "release". It generally works better than JAS for AMD based PCs. hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/52829-umm-jas-1048-with-amd/#findComment-377075 Share on other sites
