fragreaver
Hardware: + Athlon64 X2 3800+ + MSI K8N Neo4-F + 1.5GB Ram + 320GB Seagate (IDE) + ATI X1600 Silentpipe II (256mb) + Chipset: nforce4 Software: Mac.OS.X.10.4.8.JAS.AMD.INTEL At the uPhuck-Version, the kernel_task used about 30% cpu all time. So I reinstalled the version from JAS. No additional software installed, just the plain OS. And in the activity monitor, it looks like this: The console says: Mac OS X Version 10.4.8 (Build 8L2127) 2007-05-23 20:21:53 +0200 2007-05-23 20:21:56.021 SoftwareUpdateCheck[346] Checking for updates 2007-05-23 20:21:56.809 SystemUIServer[343] lang is:en 2007-05-23 20:22:02.857 KeyboardSetupAssistant[349] writeKeyboardType <49938-1133-0> 41 2007-05-23 20:23:53.462 SyndicationAgent[365] WARNING: BestCalendarDateFromString - can't interpret: 'Wed 23 May 2007 08:41:52 -800' 2007-05-23 20:23:54.537 SyndicationAgent[365] WARNING: BestCalendarDateFromString - can't interpret: 'Wed 23 May 2007 08:41:52 -800' 2007-05-23 20:23:54.539 SyndicationAgent[365] WARNING: BestCalendarDateFromString - can't interpret: 'Wed 23 May 2007 08:41:52 -800' 2007-05-23 20:23:54.541 SyndicationAgent[365] WARNING: BestCalendarDateFromString - can't interpret: 'Wed 23 May 2007 08:41:52 -800' 2007-05-23 20:23:54.543 SyndicationAgent[365] WARNING: BestCalendarDateFromString - can't interpret: 'Wed 23 May 2007 08:41:52 -800' It repeats the BestCalendarDateFromString all the time... system.log shows the following: May 23 11:21:28 stephans-computer configd[50]: setting hostname to "stephans-computer.local" May 23 20:21:45 stephans-computer /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow: Login Window Application Started May 23 20:21:50 stephans-computer loginwindow[325]: Login Window Started Security Agent May 23 20:21:51 stephans-computer /System/Library/CoreServices/UserAccountUpdater: unable to open directory /Users/stephan/Library/Widgets/ May 23 20:26:22 stephans-computer kernel[0]: (78: coreservicesd)tfp: failed on 0: May 23 20:55:16 stephans-computer kernel[0]: (78: coreservicesd)tfp: failed on 0: I already tried to deactivate some chipsets (serial, network), but it did no good. Does anybody know, how to fix this? How I solved the issue I reformatted the entire harddrive and created only one partition. Now, thats the same state as before the 10.4.9 Update, but it works. Guess I'll have to buy another harddrive for backup usage
