dye357
I just installed 10.4.8 PPF1 on a Intel DG965WH, The 82566DC Intel Pro 10/100/1000 isnt being recognized. I also have a Linksys WMP54GS v1.0 and tried editing my *kext to include 4318...no luck on that either. Any suggestions to get my box on the net with either card? LordSte
I'm having the same problem with this motherboard as well. I not sure if Tiger (10.4) supports that network controller. If you look in the /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext there are plugins for AppleIntel8254x & AppleIntel8255x. Since we have a 8256x controller, I don't think it'll work. I've tried starting a thread but no one can confirm this. I've read on other threads of people getting their 8257x controllers working, so I don't know if my theory is 100% correct. dye357
Hmm I'll have too look into that. For now im working on another solution, hopefully it works and we can get more hackintoshes on the net without a trip to walmart. Right now I just installed virtual machine software(parallels free trial)..and I am currently installing XP, I'm going to mount a USB network card to the virtual machine and then use ICS (internet connection sharing) to share the physical connection to the virtual bridge between OSX and XP. Hopefully I can get OSX to recognize theres an internet connection on that virtual network adapter. And...then have a fully functioning install. Talk about being creative...If i can make this work ill put a write up on it if there isnt one already so we can get some TCP/IP deprived macs on the net.
