DoubleFin
As mentioned in the topic..... I have used Partition Magic 8 to partition my HDD to install OS X on my laptop hdd. After successfully installing OS X... i restarted and got a Missing Operating System error... after reading the threads found in here... i think the problem lies with my paritions.... problem now is that is there a way to revert the installation of OS X or manage my partition settings? My laptop apparently do not support usb booting and I do not have my windows xp nor a live cd with me now... Is there any alternatives or solution to my problem? Thank you in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5182-need-help-urgently/ Share on other sites

Thank you in advance If you don't have any tools and don't know what to modify to get your XP back: Don't delete anything, reinstall XP in the same partition than the old one but in another Folder (c:Winn until c:Winnt). After it's installed go to c:boot.ini and change the line with c:Winn in c:Winnt. Reboot (you'll have your old install back now) and delete the folder c:Winn (the new XP install). This is not a very professional solution but it's working, simple and you just need the XP CD. Don't forget to install in another folder (else you erase the old install) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5182-need-help-urgently/#findComment-32949 Share on other sites

cyrana
You can get chain0 on the install DVD. It is in /usr/standalone/i386. Works fine, too. pc_guru
When OSX86 is booting, Darwin bootloader does a countdown, in this moment if you hit any key (except [ENTER]), you get a menu to chose from what partition you want to boot, there you can to chose Windows partition.
