skyliner34
Hi, Is there a way to change the resolution from 1024x768 to 1280x1024?(I think thats right). I dont mind using 1024x768, but it's at 60Hz and it's making my eyes funny. My graphics card is a Geforce FX5500 (Asus model), I think it's VESA3 supported. Thanks Sky Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5119-change-resolution/ Share on other sites

Thanks Sky If you graphics card will support it, meanng you have the drivers working and such you can add "Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32" to your com.apple.Boot.plist in /Library/preferences/systemconfiguration/ If it is VESA 3.0 you can add a refresh rate like this "Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32@75" The best way to test these is to try them as a boot option manually, before you add them to your Boot.plist. Then you'll know what works and what doesn't. Also, something I figured out after much frustration "Graphics Mode" must be capitalized. Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5119-change-resolution/#findComment-32544 Share on other sites

Good luck Hi Thanks How do I try them as a boot option manually? Sorry i'm a OSX noob. I would like to use 1280x1024x32@85 like in windows or even @100. Will that be possible. When I boot OSX it says VESA 3, so I assume it is supported. macgirl
How do I try them as a boot option manually? At boot write "Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32@75" If it works you can add that on the com.apple.Boot.plist Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5119-change-resolution/#findComment-32645 Share on other sites

broch
Hi everyone, I had success changing my HD2400pro agp card to 1440x900 although I couldn't get it to begin with. I used this little program. Unfortunately it is not free but you can try it for free for 10 days: http://www.madrau.com/SRXv3/html/SRX/About.html Just download the Snow Leopard for Leopard also. It works fine. You then have to add a custom resolution under the VGA/SVGA display tab. I recommend using the simplified settings. And remember to restart your OsX Best regards, Broch Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5119-change-resolution/#findComment-1381391 Share on other sites
