dsc106
I'm running the tubgirl 10.4.9 release flawlessly on my AMD rig (see sig for specs). However, I have 4gb of RAM that I really want to put to use (having all 4 sticks in is causing crashes, and so I had to pull out a stick which means 1gb of RAM goes to waste and it has also disabled dual channel memory for me... BOO!) So I am wondering, is there a 64-bit kernel available compatible with the OS version I am running and my hardware that I can update to? If so, where can I find it (IRC channel? filename?) Thanks!
Superhai
Well, the 32 bit kernel uses PAE so it should be able to address your memory and upto 68719476736 bytes (64 GB) without problems. I think your problem is somewhere else than in the kernel...
enb14
Some people even with real macs have reported issues with more than 3.5 - 4 GB in RAM, I'm not sure if this has been fixed on real macs, I would suggest you check that first.
