nepali_gurkha
Hi, I should explaine the problem, after i installed 10.4.3 osx started to run really slow, when QE & CI was enabled. ok, i tried all the atiRadeon 9700kexts, and i found the one that was giving me the problems its called ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin. But the only thing is that need that kext for QE and CI to work. Oh yea when i load the ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin kext and QE & CI are working the system slows down like crazy as i said before. I tried to do a xbench with QE&CI but it would take a billion years. The graphics test was slow as anything with QE&CI. So i don't know what todo? can i load ATIRadeon8500GA.plugin so that i get QE&CI, or will it not work. I tried to load ATIRadeonGA.plugin but it didn't work. So idon't know what to do. I also have bunch of xbench for each one i loaded. I have them attached. U can kinda of tell which each one are. Tell me what u guys thinks. The average score on xbench is like 62 and i don't know with QE & CI. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- im looking at the ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin.kext plist. and i see alot long numbers. The thing right bellow is somthing from the plist, and what i was wondering what these numbers were. Because i when i looked at the graphics card gpu infomation and agp information i see simmular numbers. I mean is there any numbers i should add? I don't know what im talking about so might be talking about nothing. Tak
In the 9700 GA plist, replace 1002514c with 10024E68 4E68 is your correct device ID. The current device referenced is a different card, see: http://pci-ids.ucw.cz/iii/?i=1002 After editing, save and set permissions, then restart. nepali_gurkha
ok, i found another thing: in this number ---> 10024e68-0000-0000-0000-000a27898d3e (i had to add the BIOS String 113-A07521-104 at the end of the number) it became faster but not as fast as when i don't have the kext in the system folder. So im thinking that i have to add more stuff to these 2 numbers. ONe of the them is 10024e68-0000-0000-0000-000a27898d3e and the other one is <key>CFPlugInTypes</key> <dict> <key>ACCF0000-0000-0000-0000-000a2789904e</key> Im not sure what to add here: I have alot of info no my gfx card: GPU Code Name R350 PCI Device 1002 / 4E48 ATI Registers: ati-00F8 08000000 ati-0140 00000022 ati-0144 1A29A222 ati-0148 EFFFE800 ati-0154 F0000000 ati-0158 30430042 ati-0178 00004029 ati-4018 00010017 ati-CLKIND-0A 01383204 ati-CLKIND-0B 48001600 ati-CLKIND-0C 0400BC30 ati-CLKIND-0D 00DF8002 ati-CLKIND-0E 04007C00 ati-CLKIND-0F 00000000 ati-CLKIND-12 AA021212 Hardware ID PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4E68&SUBSYS_00031002&REV_00 Device Resources: Memory F0000000-F7FFFFFF Memory F9010000-F901FFFF IRQ 16 Memory 000A0000-000BFFFF Memory E8000000-EFFFFFFF Memory F9000000-F900FFFF Port 03B0-03BB Port 03C0-03DF Port 8000-80FF Memory F0000000-F7FFFFFF Memory F9010000-F901FFFF I was think that this # 000A0000-000BFFFF might be added to the back end of this--->ACCF0000-0000-0000-0000-000a2789904e ( im just guessing here, i thought that because both of them end with "a" i really don't know what im doing here. I would appreciate some help from someone who knew somthing about this. Thanks -Tabha

Hagar
What exactly is the problem? you state an xbench score of 62 which is perfectly respectalble. if you are concerned about the graphics artefacts that come with the ati drivers, this is a known issue, a symptom of the fact that the drivers are not finished.. wht do you mean by slugish? it seems like you are simply trying ot make your system faster than it is.. You keep hassling with "Come on somebody" etc. but I don't think anybody really understands what problem you are trying to solve.. if the drivers slow down your system, it is probably because..... they're not finished yet! nepali_gurkha
the problem is im not trying to make the system faster. literally the system is unusable if that kext is load, its that slow. iv given up. so Thanks for all the help anyway. Sry about all the posts and "come on sombody" stuff. xbench score of 62 was with out that kext loaded.
