Hello people,

I recentrly discovered some article describing how to strip down MacOS-X 10.4.7 to fit into a 2GB Flash Drive, and boot it from this Flash Drive.

What the article doesn't describe is that, if I'm using JaS MacOS-X Installation disc, I cannot install the extra "Intel" Combo Update + SSE3 package after the Core Files have been installed on the 2GB Flash Drive.

Steps I take for installation:

Install on Flash Drive using Pacifist 2.01 the following:

1) Base Files, about 400MB.

2) Essentials, about 760MB.

3) Intel 10.4.7 Combo Update, about 780MB (that's where I'm stuck, because I cannot install this update over the Base Files).

Please need some help, all the guides I've found are using "Vanilla" MacOS-X Installation DVDs.

Thank you in advance.

It is a complete installation of 10.4.8 on a usb drive(memory stick).

I didnt follow any guide for that.

I just unpluged all my drives and i left stick only on the usb.

I did the installation us normal.

I did the upgrade to 10.4.9 and it worked.

Finaly it takes lill mor time to boot, but it works perfect.

(it didnt worked on nForce chipset mb that i test also)

Ok thanks for your input, but still my question remains to fit it on a 2GB Flash Drive, I don't have a 4GB or 8GB Flash. If someone has used Pacifist 2.01 to do that please give me a feedback! Thanks

Complete and minimal installation is about 1,9 Gig so it feet in a 2 Gig flash.

If you want to upgrade after that you have to delete a lot "unessasery" parts of the all installation.

(chess, ical, image capture, mail, sherlock, stikies, watever it doesent destroy the system)
