juaid
Hi! I installed Mac OS on my Sony Vaio FE880E laptop using the 10.4.5 universal Intel AMD install DVD. Some things didn't work at the beggining like the ethernet card and keyboard, but could get them to work with help of posts found on the forum, and modyfing some kexts. Still fighting with audio, but that's another topic Yesterday I upgraded from 10.4.5 to 10.4.9 using the JaS 10.4.9 combo update Intel SSE3. After applying it it said that some errors had occured, and had to apply the 10.4.4.loginwindow.pkg in order to make the "About this Mac" work again. But after applying the 10.4.9 update, USB is no longer working Should I replace any USB kext for a previous version?? Which ones should I try with? If not, what can I do or which info could I provide for help? Thanks in advance! Juaid

juaid
I went to the Hardware forum, and found this on the tpo topics: 10.4.7 USB 2.0 **FIXED** http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=21487 so I downloaded the 10.4.9 IOUSBFamily.kext 2.7.0 from Apple USB Developers page, installed it and it worked!!! I got USB working again!!! ))
NovemberZulu AVMS
I had that problem the very first time Ive installed 10.4.9 Try and error, I ve checked a fix about Firewire and usb via pcmcia, and post said to install USB support for Sound Blaster. That hanged all my usb devices. So, I ve downgraded to 10.4.8, then updated tp 10.4.9 without the SB USB support and presto
