Hello Guys.

 

I have a big problem while trying to Install over JAS ISO.

 

When i boot up from the DVD i choose -v. Then the Hardwaretest fails at:

Waiting for boot volume with UUID...

Waiting on <dict ID="0">...

panic (cpu 0 0c001A3129): Unresolved kernel trap (CPU 0,Type 14=page fault), registers:

I have played around with every settings on my Bios but nothing helped.

 

Hardware connectet:

Intel Prescott P4 2,8 GHz HT Supports SSE2 and 3 (tested with HT enabled and disabled)

Mainboard MSI 865PE Neo2 Platinum: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=pr...no=&cat3_no=

I have disabeld all of the Onboard component like Sound, NIC...

1 GB DDR RAM 400 mhz

ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128mb

20GB ATA HDD (1 Primary Partition Formated with Fat32)

BenQ DVD-RW

Logitech G11 USB

Logitech MX1000 USB

 

I hope anybody can help me with this Problem.

I have the same problem booting from DVD. I tried disabling USB Controller in BIOS and used platform=X86PC (as boot flag, just like -v). I was able to get to the installation portion.

 

I didn't have time to do anything else, just started doing it right now.

 

I'll let you know what happens next. It's going to be interesting not being able to use USB ports, no mouse support.

 

edit: by the way, I have 865PE Neo2 PS (not platinum), 2.4GHz w/ HT 800MHz FSB, 2GB RAM

yea, I have an SATA drive installed, Installation didn't recognized it, not too surprised, XP doesn't either w/o floppy disk driver...

 

anyway, I'm already running OS X on my Dell laptop so i'll probably run Linux on the desktop.

Hi Guys.

 

I FINALLY got the sollution for this Problem.

 

Deactivate all S-ATA Ports in the Bios, Deactivate COM Ports and LPT Ports and install OSX ;-)
