fumanju
I have the same problem booting from DVD. I tried disabling USB Controller in BIOS and used platform=X86PC (as boot flag, just like -v). I was able to get to the installation portion. I didn't have time to do anything else, just started doing it right now. I'll let you know what happens next. It's going to be interesting not being able to use USB ports, no mouse support. edit: by the way, I have 865PE Neo2 PS (not platinum), 2.4GHz w/ HT 800MHz FSB, 2GB RAM
fumanju
yea, I have an SATA drive installed, Installation didn't recognized it, not too surprised, XP doesn't either w/o floppy disk driver... anyway, I'm already running OS X on my Dell laptop so i'll probably run Linux on the desktop. sorry but i'm bailing out on this. good luck. manamana
I know this is old but THANK YOU! It was not SATA but COM1&2 which caused the troubles.
