Hi,

I tried to install 10.4.3 8f1099 (patched), but after the grey screen, I got a blue screen which has frozen... I tried to boot with mach_kernel.nonx -v -s and I got :

-------------------------------------------------

singleuser boot -- fsck not done

root device is mounted read-only

if you want to make modifications to file:

/sbin/fsck -fy

/sbin/mount -uw

USB notification: The device "EHCI Root Hub Simulation" @ 8xfd000000 has caused an overcurrent condition. The hub is attached to has been disabled.

-------------------------------------------------

I tried "/sbin/fsck -fy" and I got "The volume Mac Os X Install DVD appears to be OK"

I tried "/sbin/mount -uw" and I got "Invalid option for mount"...

My conputer is Pentium IV (HP) with SSE2 and PAE...

Thank you for your help!

Well the usb message sounds like a hardware fault...

The rest is usual, until you get the "invalid option for mount"... This may be due to the read-only nature of the dvd, as it appears to have checked that volume, not the harddrive..

Unless you're using a usb harddrive, the only suggestion I can make is that you make sure you use the latest patch from maxxuss, and try again, but it may be that your machine fails the hardware requirements in some way..

good luck!

Hi,

Thank you for your response... I made a new install dvd with the v1.1a patch and... it seems to work! "Seems", because I got a error message just at the end of the installation (during or after installing Maxxuss patch). But I could reboot, there is no error message (excepted this "USB alarm", which is always there... but it doesn't really matter).

The only problem I have now is that my ethernet card (Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet for hp) is no longer recognized... this card was well recognized by 10.4.1, before my new installation...

Any idea? Do I install manually some files from the install DVD?

I would like to precise that I have chosen "update of the system", not an "erase and new" installation...

Thank you,

Tristan
