JSn1™
Hi. I have an Intel Pentium 4, Northwood, Socket 478 mPGA, 2.60 GHz. It supports SSE2, it is NOT HT. Other hardware details: NVIDIA MX 4000 128 MB PCI 1.24 GB Ram 250 GB HD However, I cannot install Mac OS X JaS 10.4.8 nor 10.4.7. Sometimes, the computer shuts down, if I start with -v flag, the computer shuts down when it says starting Darwin osx86. If I remove the NVIDIA video card, and use the built in, I can continue the installation until a kernel panic occurs. If I boOt with -v flag, it says that the drivers for that ACPI were not found. Any ideas, I am bored of using Windows XP on that machine, If I could install Mac on that one, that would be just better. However, I am thinking about this deal with my brother. Exchange my motherboard and processor (Intel P4 2.6 GHz, Compaq included motherboard) for his AMD Sempron 1.6 GHz. This processor is detected as 3.4 GHz in Mac OS X. Please help.
