Is service pack 2 REALLY needed?

A default Windows XP CD will install as far as I know, however it is HIGHLY recommended to install SP2 afterwards. It has much, much better USB and wireless support.

 

Don't know if it's really possible, but it should work. And if Boot Camp assistant gives an error, try to manually boot the CD with the C-key pressed at bootup.
